Little Apley Pool is set within a small open greenspace on the outskirts of wellington.
The pool is quite small and is only fishable from all sides. Each beg is well spaced out and there is a plenty of water to tackle on each! Many of the pegs have access to the Lilly pads which is a favourite spot for the bigger fish.

Little Apley Pool has a very high stock of fish. Many of these fish are a fantastic size for the novice angler to start out at. From small Rudd, to immaculate little Crucian Carp to nice sized King Carp that will get a bend in the novices rod!

Parking At Little Apley Pool
There is no dedicated parking for Little Apley pool however, those who do fish the pool tend to park their vehicles on the side of the road on the grass verge. There is a drop curb to get on and off the verge which is in front of a gate.
**PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THROUGH THE GATE AND ONTO THE GRASSLAND.***
Is Little Apley Pool Disabled Friendly?
Little Apley Pool is disabled friendly, as the area around the pool is very flat and there are no obstacles restricting access. The pegs are in great condition and have plenty of room around them.

Due to access to the pool, this is where it may be difficult for disabled anglers. All anglers are to decide on their own capabilities when gaining access to all TAA waters.
How Many Pegs Are There On Little Apley Pool?
There are approximately 12 pegs around the pool.
Can I Night Fish On Little Apley Pool?
No. Night Fishing is strictly prohibited on the complex as it is situated next to a residential area. THIS IS NOT A DECISSION MADE BY TAA BUT THAT OF THE COUNCIL.
Baits And Methods On Horsehay Pool?
Due to the size of this pool, and the stamp of the livestock in Little Apley, the pool is perfect for the beginner angler or youngsters.

Short pole or whip, and waggler (float) are going to be your best bet. You could try the feeder or bomb if you have enough space, but please try not to fish over other pegs, especially if there are others on the pool.
​
Maggots, Casters, Sweetcorn, Pellets and a good quality ground bait will always serve you well on Little Apley however, single maggot will get the attention of the smallest of the fish in the pool. You will however most likely catch more fish than you ever have!

Little Apley Pool IS NOT SUITABLE for "Carp Fishing" set-ups, and the Carp rarely go above 6-8 Lbs. The Water Keeper may ask those with such heavy tackle to leave as fish welfare is paramount.
